A. Shakleekids Mighty Smart™ DHA chews are intended for children ages 4 years and older and also can be consumed
by adults.
Shakleekids Incredivites™ is intended for children ages 4-12.
Shakleebaby Multivitamin & Multi mineral Powder
is intended for infants older than 6 months and toddlers 1-4 years of age.

Q. DHA is a key ingredient in Shakleekids Mighty Smart chews. What is DHA? What are the health benefits for
my child?
 
A. DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid and is a major building block of brain and eye tissue. Adequate intake
early in life is vital to proper brain and visual development and to ensure the cells of the brain, retina, and other parts of the nervous system develop and function properly.*

Q. I am concerned that my child isn’t getting enough vitamin D. Do Shakleekids and Shakleebaby multivitamin/multi mineral products provide sufficient amounts of vitamin D?
 
A. To address the growing concern about inadequate intake and deficiency of vitamin D in young children, both the Shakleebaby Multivitamin & Multi mineral Powder for Infant and Toddlers and Shakleekids Incredivites provide essential bone health nutrients, with a special focus on delivering vitamin D in amounts known to be beneficial to infants and children. A serving of Shakleebaby Multivitamin & Multi mineral Powder delivers 400 IU of vitamin D.  A serving of Shakleekids Incredivites delivers 600 IU of vitamin D. The amount of vitamin D in both products is considered to be very safe and well below the current, upper limit of safety which has been set at 2,000 IU per day.

Q. What is lactoferrin?
 
A. Lactoferrin is a unique, biologically active milk protein, isolated from dairy whey. Also found naturally in breast milk, it is believed to provide one of the immuno-protective effects associated with breast-feeding. Lactoferrin has been shown to
act as a prebiotic–it fuels the growth of beneficial microflora, which in turn supports digestive health. Studies also indicate
lactoferrin activates other components of the immune system.*

Q: My child is lactose intolerant, can he take Incredivites?
 
A: Yes. Although the product contains lactoferrin, a protein derived from milk, there is no detectable amount of lactose
present in the product.

Q. What is oligofructose-enriched inulin?
 
A. Oligofructose-enriched inulin is a type of fiber, specifically a uniquely processed blend of inulin and oligofructose
(fructooligosaccharides) that has been derived from the root of the chicory plant. It is made using a proprietary process that results in a specific combination of long and short chained fibers. These fibers are not broken down by the stomach or intestines and remain intact when they reach the large intestines, where they are metabolized by and promote the
growth of beneficial microflora. The particular oligfructose-enriched inulin used in Shakleebaby Multivitamin & Multi mineral Powder has been clinically tested to promote digestive and immune health benefits in infants and toddlers.*
